Rigid Endoscope

 What is a Rigid Endoscope?

(1) Rigid endoscopes are made of metal tubes containing lenses and light channels and are available in various outer diameters, from 1 mm to 12 mm.
(2) Typically, rigid endoscopes have a series of high-resolution optical glass rod lenses, and the rod lens system is located at the distal end of the endoscope.
(3) These small endoscopes are ideal instruments for observing the inner surface of small volumes without surgery. Images of the inner surface are transmitted via video technology.

What Types of Rigid Endoscopes Are There?

(1) Rigid endoscopes are classified according to their medical specialty. Here are some common types: laparoscopy, arthroscopy, cystoscopy, hysteroscopy, bronchoscopy, gastroscopy, sinusoscopy, and neuroendoscopy.
(2) According to the structure, it can be divided into straight rod non-separable tube endoscope, straight rod separable tube endoscope, curved tube non-separable tube endoscope, and curved tube separable tube endoscope four categories.

What is the Difference Between a Flexible and Rigid Endoscope?

(1)Flexible and rigid endoscopes are medical devices used to examine internal structures visually, but they differ in their design, construction, Patient Comfort, Sterilization, and applications.
(2)Flexible endoscopes are made of movable, easy-to-manipulate tubes to view internal organs. In contrast, rigid endoscopes view organs along a vertical axis.
